GPXpress (“the Platform,” “we,” “us”) is a transportation technology service owned and operated by Kerron Julien, trading as Red Fox Consulting (“the Data Controller”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our Riders and Drivers in accordance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act (JDPA), 2020.
GPXpress relies on precise location services to function:
Precise Location: We collect GPS data to match Riders with the nearest available Taxis or Private Drivers and to navigate active trips.
Background Location (Drivers): The Driver App collects location data even when the app is closed or not in use to enable ride requests and track trip progress for safety.
Foreground Location (Riders): We collect location data only when the app is open to set pickup points and estimate arrival times.
GPXpress relies on location services to function.
Precise Location: We collect precise GPS data to match Riders with nearby Drivers and to navigate trips.
Background Location (Drivers): The Driver App collects location data even when the app is closed or not in use to enable ride requests and track trip progress for safety.
Rider Location: We collect location data only when the app is in the foreground to set pickup points.
We process your data for the following lawful purposes:
Service Delivery: Matching riders with drivers and calculating fares.
Safety & Security: Verifying driver identities and tracking active trips in real-time.
Legal Compliance: Maintaining records required by the Transport Authority of Jamaica and for tax purposes.
GPXpress operates across two distinct digital environments:
Promotional Website (gpxpress-jm.com): Uses cookies for session management and to analyze site traffic via Google Analytics. This site acts as a gateway for user support and inquiries.
Administrative & API Platform (mgmt.gpxpress-jm.com): This secure subdomain hosts our Laravel-based management system. It processes all core application data, including user profiles, real-time GPS coordinates, and payment records. No marketing or third-party tracking cookies are used on this administrative subdomain; it utilizes only essential “Session Tokens” required for secure data transmission and authentication.
Your data is shared with essential service providers (e.g., Google Maps for navigation and Namecheap for hosting). Note: Your personal data is stored on secure servers located in the United States. By using GPXpress, you explicitly consent to this international transfer as required by the JDPA.
GPXpress uses algorithms to:
Match: Connect Riders with Drivers based on GPS proximity.
Price: Calculate estimated fares based on distance and demand. You have the right to contest any automated decision that significantly affects you by contacting our Support team.
Active Accounts: We keep your data while your account is active.
Tax/Legal Records: Transactional data is retained for 7 years to comply with Jamaican laws.
Security: Data is protected using SSL/TLS encryption in transit and strict internal access controls.
Users have the right to request the deletion of their account and associated data at any time:
In-App Path: Navigate to Menu > Delete Account.
Web-Based Path: Visit our dedicated request page at https://gpxpress-jm.com/contact-us.
Instructions: Select “Account Deletion” from the dropdown menu and provide your registered email/phone number.
Processing Time: Upon submission, your account will be immediately deactivated. All personally identifiable information will be permanently anonymized or erased within 30 days in accordance with our data retention policy.
